President's Tour 2012


Each year the CASI President tours CASI Branches and delivers a presentation that draws upon the President's 'day job' activities and corporate background.

The CASI President this year is Ron Holdway, Vice President of Government Relations for COM DEV, a Canadian space company headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario.

Canada became the world’s third space-faring nation in 1962 with the launch of Alouette‐1. Over the 50 intervening years Canada has distinguished itself by its many achievements in space.
In his 2012 President’s Tour presentation, Ron looks back upon the government vision that first took Canada into space, explains the strategic role that space infrastructure plays in the delivery of our public policy and in our international relations, and reviews the many ways that space assets touch the daily lives of every Canadian. CASI President's Tour Heads West

CASI President Ron Holdway travelled to western Canada recently and made his President's Tour presentation to audiences at
four universities, accompanied by CASI Executive Director Geoff Languedoc.

Ron's presentation is entitled 'The Amazing Store of Canada in Space - Global Success on a Shoestring Budget'. It looks back
on past Canadian achievements in space, reflects on the current situation, and looks ahead to future missions and the promise of new technologies.

We received warm welcomes at every stop along the way, and we would like to extend our thanks to our generous hosts:
