Flight Mechanics & Operations

The Flight Mechanics and Operations Section of CASI strives to serve the operations, maintenance, flight test, human factors, avionics and simulation and training community within Canada.

The Section had is roots in the separate sections of simulation and training, flight test and flight operations, however, the synergy and overlap between these was such that the sections were merged to provide greater critical mass.

The section has as its mandate the provision of a meaningful technical focus and means for the dissemination of flight mechanics and operations information through national symposia and the publication of papers in the respected technical journal (Canadian Aeronautics and Space Journal) from time to time.

The Section is dedicated to advancement of the art, science, technologies and applications of flight mechanics and operations, through:

  • The provision of facilities for the exchange of information among members, particularly with regard to flight mechanics and operations and related technologies;
  • The holding of periodic symposia, and other special meetings, for the presentation and discussion of scientific research, technologies, applications methodologies, operations and other technical subjects relating to flight mechanics and operations;
  • The promotion of the publication of papers on all subjects relating to flight mechanics and operations and related technologies; and
  • The promotion of the exchange of information between the Section of other organizations having similar interests.
