The Alouette Award
The Alouette is an award introduced to recognize an outstanding contribution to advancement in Canadian space technology, applications, science or engineering. It may be awarded to an individual, to a group, an organization or group of organizations, as appropriate to the nature of the contribution.
The trophy shall be awarded annually for an outstanding achievement in the field of astronautics as defined by the CASI By-Laws. The achievement may be either a single outstanding contribution or, in the case of an individual nominee, a sustained high level of performance resulting in several advances in space. The contribution on which the award is based must be recognized as a Canadian-led space endeavour or as a significant Canadian contribution to an international program. Preference shall be given to contributions that lead to new benefits for mankind.
The recipient shall have been a Canadian citizen at the time the contribution was made.
Le Prix Alouette
Le prix Alouette reconnaît une contribution exceptionnelle à l'avancement de la technologie, des applications, des sciences ou du génie spatial au Canada. Ce prix sera décerné à une personne, à un groupe, à un organisme ou à un groupe d'organismes, selon la nature de leur contribution.
Ce trophée sera décerné afin de souligner une réalisation remarquable dans le domaine de l'astronautique, tel que défini dans les statuts de l'IASC. Cette contribution peut consister en une découverte remarquable unique ou, dans le cas d'une personne, en un niveau de performance constamment élevé qui a occasionné plusieurs progrès dans le domaine spatial. La contribution qui sert de base à ce prix doit être une entreprise spatiale canadienne ou une contribution canadienne à un programme international. Préférence sera donnée à une contribution qui apporte des avantages nouveaux à l'humanité.
Le lauréat doit être de citoyenneté canadienne ou doit l'avoir été au moment où il a apporté cette contribution.
