Aircraft Design and Development

The Aircraft Design and Development Section of CASI strives to serve the aircraft design and development community within Canada, including all varieties of aircraft.

Although the Section had its roots in light, general aviation type aircraft, in recent years there has been a balance between commercial transport, military transport, military fighter and general aviation types of design issues.

The Section has as its mandate the provision of a meaningful technical focus and means for the dissemination of aircraft design and development information through national symposia and the publication of papers in the respected technical journal (Canadian Aeronautics and Space Journal) from time to time.

The Section is dedicated to advancement of the art, science, technologies and applications of aircraft design and development, through:

  • The provision of facilities for the exchange of information among members, particularly with regard to aircraft design and development and related technologies;
  • The holding of periodic symposia, and other special meetings, for the presentation and discussion of scientific research, technologies, applications methodologies, operations and other technical subjects relating to aircraft design and development;
  • The promotion of the publication of papers on all subjects relating to aircraft design and development and related technologies; and
  • The promotion of the exchange of information between the Section of other organizations having similar interests.
