Welcome to the Ottawa CRSS Branch

The Ottawa Chapter of the Canadian Remote Sensing Society (CRSS) is a local chapter of a constituent society of the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute (CASI).

A few times a year, the Chapter hosts evening seminars on topics of general interest. These offer an opportunity for individuals involved in remote sensing, including students, academics, professionals, and enthusiasts, to meet in an informal setting. Food and refreshments at these events are sponsored by members of the local remote sensing industry and presentations are given by speakers from various governmental, industrial, and educational institutions in Canada and from around the world.

 Additional Events and Items:

On October 29, 2007, the Canadian Remote Sensing Society (CRSS) – Ottawa Branch hosted the Evening Curling Social on behalf of the Joint 28th Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing / American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Conference. With friends and colleagues watching, several brave folk ventured onto the ice for the first time at the Royal Canadian Navy Curling Club, to be coached and skipped by fellow symposium attendees. With 48 attendees enjoying the buffet and the curling club atmosphere the evening was a great success, and only a few minor bumps and sore muscles to report the next day.

On behalf of the organizers, I would like to thank everyone for participating in this event. These events are only really successful when the attendees show up ready to enjoy and get involved, which you all did at an excellent level.

To keep informed of future CRSS Ottawa Branch events, please visit this site as often as possible. We look forward to seeing you soon.
